Clarkson University Outing Club Lean-To

How can we construct a lean-to one mile back in the woods for future generations to enjoy for years?

The Clarkson University Outing Club is a community of the most extreme collegiate outdoor enthusiasts on the East Coast and in an effort to promote our passion for the outdoors and the importance of wilderness education, the club was tasked with the construction of a traditional Adirondack lean-to on the 40 acres of wilderness surrounding the Clarkson campus. From the sourcing of materials to logistics and complete construction, we were tasked with the complete lifecycle of the project.

After sourcing the required logs from a local sawmill, the Outing Club Hauling Crew was tasked with carrying all 108 logs a half mile back into the woods

With a passion to build and extensive experience with woodworking, a group of my closest colleagues and myself were responsible for coordinating and completing the construction of the project
